How ShotSlate collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data

2026/07/12

Effective date: July 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ShotSlate handles personal data when you use our website and AI creative studio. If you have questions or want to exercise a privacy right, contact us at support@shotslate.com.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create or use an account, we may process your name, email address, profile image, account identifiers, sign-in provider information, and session information. You may sign in with Google or another supported authentication method.

Creative project data

ShotSlate stores information needed to provide your creative workspace. This can include prompts, project titles, canvas nodes and connections, chat messages, project notes, uploaded files, generated images and videos, exports, and associated metadata such as file names, storage keys, and creation times.

Billing and Credits information

We process plan selection, subscription or one-time purchase status, Credits balances and transactions, and payment-related identifiers. Payments are processed by the payment provider configured for ShotSlate, currently Stripe or Creem. ShotSlate does not store full payment card numbers.

Technical and analytics information

We may process IP-derived information, browser and device information, log data, pages viewed, and product interaction data. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity may collect analytics information as described in our Cookie Policy.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide, secure, and maintain ShotSlate;
  • authenticate accounts and prevent abuse or fraud;
  • store projects, assets, generated media, and exports;
  • process payments, subscriptions, Credits, refunds, and customer support;
  • send service-related messages and, where enabled, newsletters;
  • analyze product usage and improve reliability and usability; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on the legal basis appropriate to the processing, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests such as service security and improvement, consent for analytics technologies, and legal obligations.

How information is shared

We share information only as needed to operate ShotSlate, including with:

  • cloud infrastructure, database, and object storage providers that store account data, project records, uploaded files, generated media, and exports;
  • authentication providers, such as Google, when you choose to sign in with them;
  • AI generation providers that process prompts and selected references to create requested images or videos;
  • payment providers, including Stripe or Creem, to process payments and manage subscriptions or Credits purchases;
  • email providers, including Resend, for transactional and newsletter communications;
  • analytics providers, including Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, when enabled; and
  • authorities or professional advisers when required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal information or use your data for third-party behavioral advertising.

International transfers

ShotSlate and its service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and rely on the protections provided by our processors.

Retention and deletion

We retain account and project data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, or maintain security. Uploaded files, generated media, and exports may be stored in object storage while they remain associated with an active project or account. We may retain limited backup or transaction records where necessary for security, accounting, or legal purposes.

You can request account deletion or ask about deletion of personal data by contacting support@shotslate.com. We will handle requests subject to applicable law and legitimate retention needs.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal data. You may also object to certain processing or withdraw consent where we rely on it. To make a request, email support@shotslate.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No internet service or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

ShotSlate is not intended for children who are not legally permitted to consent to data processing in their jurisdiction. Do not use the service if you do not meet the applicable minimum age requirement.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ShotSlate, our processors, or legal requirements change. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above.
